ClaimEdits

Free first review

Send 20 claim lines. Get each one back edit-checked and priced.

For practices, billing companies, hospitals and health plans. Each line comes back with every bundling, unit-limit, add-on and coverage rule it meets, the modifier that legitimately clears it (or that it can't), and its Medicare price, next to what was allowed and paid. Just one claim? Check it here first.

The column template (CSV) lists every field. A line is one service line on a claim. Rather not send anything yet? Check a whole claim yourself on Check a Claim.

Three sample lines, checked

One office visit with a knee injection and ultrasound guidance, checked against the October 2026 edit tables. A worked example, not a patient claim.

LineCodeResultWhy
120610-RTCleanMUE 2 per date of service (MAI 3); 1 billed.
299213BundledBundled into 20610 since October 1, 2020 (modifier indicator 1). Clears only with modifier 25, when the visit is significant and separately identifiable beyond the usual pre-injection assessment, documented in the medical record.
376942BundledBundled into 20610. The table allows a modifier (indicator 1), but coding policy for guidance at the same injection points to a different code, not a modifier: bill 20611, which includes the guidance and needs recorded images and a report.

In your review, each line also carries its Medicare price and what was allowed and paid, so an edit the payer applied wrongly shows up as money, in either direction.

How it works

  1. 1Ask. Fill in the short form below. Don't put claim data in it.
  2. 2Send. We email you how to send the file, by encrypted email. We take three reviews a week; if we're full, you get a start date before you send anything.
  3. 3Review. Back within 5 business days of the file arriving: a spreadsheet and a one-page summary.
  4. 4Decide. If it holds up, the paid step is a full-file pre-bill or denial audit: the same spreadsheet for every line, with totals by reason. From $2,500, tiered by line count, quoted in writing first. No obligation.

Questions

What exactly should the lines contain?

CPT/HCPCS codes, modifiers, units, place of service, diagnosis codes, the state and the ZIP of the place the service was performed (not the patient's ZIP), the service year, and billed, allowed and paid amounts with any denial reason codes. Number the lines 1 to 20 and group them by claim and day of service (claim 1 day A, claim 1 day B), since the edits compare lines on the same day.

What should I leave out?

Patient names and addresses, member IDs, patient account and record numbers, claim numbers, and every date (birth, service). Keep the notes free of patient details. If a line depends on the quarter (the edit tables change every quarter), flag it and we'll check it against each quarter of that year. Test claims with no real member behind them can keep their dates; copies of production claims can't.

Do you sign an NDA?

Yes, on request: a mutual NDA, ours or yours, signed before you send the file.

Why is it free, and what comes after?

Because 20 lines you already know the answer to is the fastest way to judge whether the method holds up. If it does, a full-file audit or API access for your own systems is quoted in writing as a fixed scope before it starts.

Who does the review?
